Innovative Workforce Projects
Preferred partner for healthcare employers exploring apprenticeship programs
Current Programs
Registered Apprenticeship Elements
Apprenticeship programs allow healthcare organizations to expand their workforce through innovative, flexible, and employer-driven models that incorporate the following elements:

Paid Clinicial Training
Completed at the employer site through hands-on experience observing and learning from mentors. Apprentices are paid during clinic time and work toward mastering competencies and skills prioritized by the employer.

Online Related Instruction
156 total hours of self-paced online content, spread across the duration of the program. Coursework is completed during non-paid time, unless otherwise approved by the employer.

National Certification
Upon completion of the clinical training and online course, apprentices are eligible to sit for their national certification exam.

Potential Apprentices
Current Staff
Create structured pathways for currently uncredentialed staff to get certified. Apprentices can receive credit for prior experience, while employers are able to test the model with no additional wage costs.
Candidates for Upskilling
Upward mobility for workers who have shown potential for larger roles. Using existing staff allows employers to gauge traits such as work ethic and dependability prior to enrollment.
External Hires
Expands recruitment pool by providing opportunities to those unable to complete traditional education programs and allows employers to adopt "grow your own" talent development models.
Testimonials
The IWP team has been with us every step of the way since our MA Apprentice program launched in September 2021. Their guidance was instrumental during the program start-up and ongoing support from the IWP team ensures the apprentices are supported throughout the on-line learning to certification! They are true partners in this endeavor.

One thing I most enjoyed about the MA Apprentice Program was having on-the-job training in tandem with what we were learning in our online schooling;
it helped me to better understand the material I was learning and to get comfortable with the healthcare
field. At 21, I had my daughter and decided to put my career on the back burner. At 31, I decided to return
& pursue becoming a Medical Assistant to show her that anything is possible and to never give up on your dreams.

My favorite thing about the MA Apprenticeship Program is the opportunity to graduate from an
accredited accelerated program debt-free and have job security!
